Title:  Missions: World View 9th-12th

Description: We will be exploring the foundation of missions. We will look into what people of other religions believe. How do the world views of people from other cultures and philosophies affect the way we as Christians should relate to them? How can we as Christians be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is within us in the most effective way?We need to know what we believe, why we believe, and how to communicate that to others within our culture and cross-culturally. Understanding world missions today involves understanding other world views, other religions, and Christian apologetics. We will study the lives of great Christian mission leaders. We will have opportunities to interact with people currently involved in world missions. George Thomas, the CBN world reporter, who has traveled to dozens of countries in the most dangerous parts of the world, has agreed to be a guest lecturer for the class. We will learn methods for personal evangelism and discipleship. The course is being taught by a veteran missionary with 13 years cross-cultural experience. 1 high school credit – Social Studies/Cultural Anthropology.
