Title:  Elementary Writing

Description:  We will be using a combination of exiting history based themes and literature to help young students learn the early fundamentals of writing. We will focus on the nine units introduced by the Institute for Excellence in Writing. During the year we will look at structures such as poetry, outlining, summarizing, literature, and reports. We will also learn about styles such as quality adjectives, strong verbs, alliteration, banned words, and senses and emotions. Each child will receive a valuable resource notebook that will help them in their writing for years to come.
